What can we do to enable our guests to find our Airbnb easier, so they don't have to call us. Our guest entrance is in the alley so if they map our address it takes to the front which is confusing! We created "Arrival Instructions" (PDF document) which has directions and pictures but I'm not sure if Airbnb strips the attachment? Do guest read these, some probably do but some don't.
Couple options we are considering:
1) Add our rental to google maps as a business. Downside to this is it will be public. But what can't be found these days especially sense a business license is now required.
2) Copy and paste a google map pinned location in our response to guests. Will Airbnb strip this?
Other options?
Thanks!
yes, you can send pictures to your confirmed guests on the message thread. So the best would be to take a picture or your alley and entrance or draw a map and send it to your guests in the message together with check-in instructions. I would do that.
"Downside to this is it will be public"
It's an advantage. Work on your license or business permit
@Roger385 I'd also mention to guests that it's very important that they refer to your check-in instructions re your entrance, rather than using Google maps, as several guests have had a hard time understanding where the entrance is located when using online mapping, and you'd hate to inconvenience them by them being confused about that.
The only very accurate one I know is an app that divide's the world into 3 meter squares, you get a unique 3 words that when entered into the app bring up your exact location.
Example below which I think is near you

Now all you have to do is get the guests to use the app 😞
@Roger385 there is a bug that some of us have been experiencing with sending attachments. I've not been able to see anything my guests send me & vice versa and looking through this forum others have had the same problem.
I'd suggest that you send the written directions as a message to the guest in case they are not getting the PDF. You can save the directions as a standard message so you don't have to write them out each time.
I send attachments to guests by email. I first try using the coded email Airbnb assigns to guests, but sometimes the attachment doesn't show up, especially if they are using thier phone for their email. In that case, I ask them for their personal email address, which none have minded giving me, as they understand why I need it, and then it always shows up.
