Guest found poop in my home

Hi all! 

I’m new to AirBNB. I just had a guest find dog poop in my home.  (Ugh)  I had My placed deep cleaned a couple of days before I left town. I am assuming that my dog was nervous with my packing and decided to leave a little punishment for me by pooping in the guest bedroom before we left. (The day after my hone was cleaned).  

The rug camouflaged it quite well and I didn’t see it before I left. 

The guest brought this to my attention and I immediately refunded her the cleaning fee.  She thanked me and said she appreciated that.

 Should I do more? Refund an extra night?  Call her on her day of check out? 

I don’t want to make a bigger deal than it needs to be, but I’m unhappy with myself for not double checking every detail before I left.  Any advice would be great!

Get over yourself Ashley,

the Guest was happy with the gesture and just because you give your guest more will not necessarily alter their review, they might think you're trying to bribe them which could have completely the opposite effect.

@Ashley369 I think that you should do something extra for them. What would you want to be done for you if you were in their place? The lady seems very nice but dog poop is not a thing many guests would tolerate, I know I wouldn't, it is not like a few breadcrumbs or dust and the cleaning fee is enough. It is your decision in the end but a little something would be greatly appreciated in my opinion.
