Guest having trouble making a payment.

We are brand new to hosting at Air BnB, and we have a guest trying to book with us.

At first he asked us to call him, even though we had already pre-approved his reservation.

The number was hidden to us, so we responded to him through text.

We told him that he had been pre-approved, and to go ahead and book through Air BnB.

He said that he was having trouble making the payment on Air Bnb.

I'm not too sure what to do to help him.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for replying to my question Marit Anne.

We were having our doubts as to whether this was a scammer or not, as his profile said that he lived in Abbotsford, British Columbia, but the area code that came up for his phone in our texts was for Manitoba.

Also, the answers to his numerous questions about our place can be found in our listing...which I don't think he bothered to look at.

A red flag definitely went up when he asked us to call him.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my inquiry.

Take care, and have a great day.

You should not do anything at all to help him.  If he has any issues, ask him to contact airbnb.

Also take into consideration that this can be a scammer - they target new and inexperienced hosts.  Personal info is not revealed until after a booking is confirmed - for a reason - it can be a security issue.
