Hi,
I am a long time host and today I had a bad experience with one of my guests. They litteraly disappear forgetting to pay for the extra services, forgetting to give me back the house keys, etc.
So i was wondering if I was to naive accepting them in my house and I would like to read what other hosts write about them. But I don't know how to do so.
Anyone can help?
Thanks
Henri
Hi @Bouakham-and-Henri0 You are a long time host, I'm so surprised you've never done this before. I always look at prospective guest's reviews from other hosts (if there are any) before I allow them to book. All you do is click on their photo in messages & their profile comes up. There may not be any other hosts reviews though if their profile is new. Hope that helps - Karen
That's what I usually do. Then in this case, there are no review showing up. But still on the left hand side of the page under the photo, you can see this:
Meaing that I should be able to read this review, no?
@Bouakham-and-Henri0 Oh I see what you mean. No idea why that 1 review isn't showing up, maybe they somehow got it removed? @Helen3 and @Andrea9 made great points.
And it's always better to set your booking settings to ID-verified guests only.
If it was a confirmed booking, and if you didn't get a message from ABB later saying there was a problem with payment and it had to be cancelled (this happens with stolen cc sometimes, and it's a problem with same day guests because the fraud is usually only discovered the next day after guest has already high-tailed it out. That's why ID-verified is recommendable. Frauders don't usually pass it.
