Host Cancellation

I am a host of 4 listings. On two of my listings on which I had blocked out some periods when need the apartment/room for own use, I found that these blocks, somehow, had been deleted by the system. I then got an instant booking which I found overlapped with, what I thought was, a blocked out period. I had to cancel the booking (within 48 hours of the booking being made - and was for 4 months forward at the end of August which guest completely understood) and now find that I may be charged a penalty, lose my superhost status and a block of peak season booking is now blocked. This was clearly a system error or maybe there is some method by which when one edits one's calendars it deletes blocked periods as another blocked period was reinstated on another listing. I have tried to find out a way of contacting Airbnb to discuss this through email or on-line and just end up going round in ever decresing circles on the site. Can anyone out there help a) to tell me how I actually send a message to Airbnb to which I will get a response and b) advise me as to whether this is a common problem that hosts experience. I may now have to turn off instant book in case this happens again. While I appreciate cancelations must be discouraged, when the website has glitches, why should a host pay?

best way is either call them or apparently twitter. Calling always works best for me.

I am a host, and would like the number to call and talk to a real person.  Anyone out there have a number?  Thank you

Hello, I need help, somebody did a reservation, I approved it, since it was the same day, I gave they ocuppied the house for 3 days, left but right after they cancelled and I never got my payment, anybody know what should I do?

I suggest you call them though it will probably do no good. I had a friend staying in one of my nine spaces and she asked to stay longer and i said yes but got an instant booking before i had a chance to block. I cancelled within 5 minutes but it totally pisses me off that i am now blocked from Super Host for an entire year!!!! If i had only that one space penalized then ok but it has effected my status across the boards. I think they should hold you in the dog house for maybe a certain number of bookings. A dozen? Or - heaven forbid - forgive one goof. For me this penalty is way out of line with what i think is fair. 50 no-problem booking later and i am still in dog house. Geez. Good luck.

I just had this happen to me. I had made the rental unavailable indefinitely, received an instant booking this morning, and can't cancel it. I get an error message each time -- after writing the full explanation to airbnb as to the reason for the cancellation. I can't figure out who/how to contact in order to cancel the booking.

I went to that link. I went through the steps and was continually brought back to the same page -- to ask a question. The option of writing in a text box never appeared. My screen looked different than your screen shots.

I've worked out my cancellation with the gentleman who booked the room in the mean time.
