Wondering what to do when we occupy the house also. We have things stored on the top shelves of closets that our guests occupy. Should they be removed.? We have linens stored in the bottom drawers of one dresser. Should  they be removed? There is plenty of room for guest storage but just curious. Also should we only post pictures of the areas the guests are  allowed to occupy? We thought pictures of the whole house is more appealing? Thx!

@Tom888  Photos should be only of the guest quarters and any common spaces you share with guests. Don't show photos of any areas you don't allow guests access to.

I would remove anything in the guest space you don't want them to touch or use. If you have linens in the bottom drawer, some guests will help themselves to them. Also, some people are nosy and will look through anything they have access to. If the stuff on the shelf is something you can't imagine guests being interested in or availing themselves of, and it's nothing particularly private, then it should be fine to leave it there, maybe with a sign saying "Host storage, not for guest use".
