My guests who left yesterdway were dishonest and disgusting. They stayed 2 nights. They told me there'd be one person and when I told them I saw two after the first night, they ignored my message. Then they tried to throw up some smoke screens when messaging them after check out and she goes "since you're stuck on the extra guest, I'll pay that". Well, it's my policy up front so I don't think she has a choice. Secondly, they threw up on my paving stones which they deny, but I charged them $35. which is a tiny price to pay for scrubbing vomit off of rubber stones that have many small crevices.
Also, on the first night, they came home at 12:30 or 1am and it's not hard to be quiet past our house, but they made a ton of noise, banged around for 10 minutes and woke us all up.
And...now here's the gross part....they nail clippings and fake eyelashes on the floor, tons of hair in the bed, soap scum all over the vanity, mirrors and shower, food crumbs and dirty dishes in the kitchenette, and hand prints on the mirrors and windows. Even the door to go outside is glass and there's a big hand print right in the middle of the glass, like they don't know how to use a glass door by handling the handle or the side casings, not the glass. Should I say all this in the review or be more subdued? I don't want to hurt them as they're probably young people going crazy for the weekend, but at the same time, I should warn other owners and I certainly don't want anyone like this to ever rent from me again.
Also, when should I do the review? They left Sunday, I requested the money yesterday and I still haven't heard. Should I wait?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Cate
@Catherine1274 I wouldn't go in great detail, I would just say that they disrespected the house rules and left you with extra cleaning after they checked out. Also 1* in cleanliness and however you feel about the two other categories and wouldn't recommend them.
That makes sense. Thank you!
@Catherine1274 If it were me I would wait to the very last day to leave a review unless you get a notification that your guests left you a review. The guests might not know how the review system works and may not leave you a review. But if you leave them one they will get notified about it and asked to leave one as well. They will most likely leave you a really bad review. Whenever I have had to leave a bad review I have waited till the very last day. My guests didn't got the time to leave me a review.
Best, Sandra
Wow! Good to know the system. 🙂
