How can I stop allowing people with 3 star average reviews from instant booking my home? A couple checked out today and they instant booked with a 3 star average. And whaddya know, they were awful!
@Jeff396 There is no way to block guests with poor reviews from instant booking your place. You can set a requirement that guests need to have a host recommendation to book with you, but they could have both a host recommendation from some hosts and poor reviews from others. See https://www.airbnb.ca/help/article/484/how-can-i-control-which-reservations-i-get-with-instant-book for details on how to set that requirement, if you haven't already.
If you're not comfortable with a guest after they've instant booked, contact Airbnb and tell them you would like to cancel the reservation penalty free because you're uncomfortable. See https://www.airbnb.ca/help/article/2022/how-do-penaltyfree-cancellations-work-for-instant-book-hosts for all the details.
@Jeff396 A CS recently told me that the system considers anything other than a 1* as “recommended by other hosts”. **
I think most hosts would disagree. Do like @Alexandra316 says and call up CS to make your case that a 3* guest isn’t a good fit for your place
** who knows if this is true?!? I’m just saying
Hello @Jeff396
You can report a message from someone or block any future communication from them:
If you block someone, they won’t be able to send you messages, send you a reservation request, or accept a reservation request from you.
