How to cancel an autobooking without being penalized ?

Hi, I have autobook turned on my unit holds 6. Someone autobooked and they asked me if they can have 8 people there. I let them know it would be too many, its a 1 bathroom and it would just be too tight of a fit.

If I try to cancel it says I will get a penalty and to ask the guest. I've asked them but they have not cancelled yet and I'm afriad to have too many days pass with their booking still in place. Is there anyway I can decline or cancel their request after they booked? I have autobooked turned on so they put 6 guests but they asked for 8 after....so don't know how to do this peasfully without getting a penalty at all.

@Devin4:

You are allowed to cancel an instant book guest if they do not fit your requirements. Bringing 8 people into a 6 person home is a violation. However, to keep from being penalized you have to contact Airbnb directly.

If you don't get a quick response, and it is urgent, I advise you to contact Airbnb via Twitter :  @AirbnbHelp

At hte same time, maybe send a message like : "Thank you for your reservation.  Please note that this property accommodates a maximum of 6 (six) people, and under no circumstances can more people be accommodated.  Thank you for your understanding"

It does sometimes happen that people who are newish to the platform don't fully understand how it works, and they make mistakes when booking

I hope this helps
