I made an approval error

I was trying to figure out how to send email to someone I was accepting and it switched from PRE-APPROVAL to WITHDRAW PRE-APPROVAL.  How can I change it to APPROVAL?

@Betz0  You could message the guest and tell them that you did that by mistake and to please send another inquiry so you can pre-approve it (but be aware that people often send inquiries which we pre-approve, then you never hear from them again). Or they could just go ahead and put in a booking request if you're okay with that. The other alternative is to contact airbnb and get them to fix it, but probably less hassle to just message the guest.

Also, be aware of the difference in terms- an email to a guest is one you send to their airbnb coded email address, which isn't visible until the guest has actually booked. What I think you mean is that you were trying to send an airbnb message to them. This isn't an email, although they may get a notification in their personal email that they have a message waiting from you. They have to go to their airbnb message inbox to read your message, as you do to read theirs.

@Betz0   You can just click pre-approve again, I have done this and it worked. But all pre-approval means is if they decide to book their reservation is automatically accepted, you do not have to click 'accept' manually.

@Betz0 you did not make any error.

If the button used to say "Pre-Approve" and the button now says "Withdraw Pre-Approval" then you have sent your Pre-Approval already.

So since the button said "Pre-Approve" earlier, that means your prospective guest sent you an Inquiry, which is really just them asking questions about booking with you. They did not send an actual request to book with you, they are just asking questions.

You do not have the option to "Approve" because you can only "Approve" a Booking Request.

The only thing you can do with an Inquiry is to "Pre-Approve" them, which you already have done

Thank you so very much.  Could you help me with some basics, please?

1. Login to my account.

2. Create basic "Welcome" letter that I could then personalize with their name. Give them directions, or ask if they are using public transport (air, train, bus, taxi).  Do you have such a letter that I might "borrow" the highlights?

After just two guests we are becoming more popular.  If you have time, your advice is appreciated.

Warmly,
