I'm a new host, we are renting the ground floor of our house. I'm concerned about the level of cover on Host Guarantee - it seems to cover public liability and damage but not theft. Also airbnb strongly encourage people to take out their own insurance as well - so what's the point of the host guarantee. Also I'm unsure about the impact hosting will have on my house insurance so am going to give the insurance company a call this week to discuss. What do most people do to minimise their exposure to risk?
Any outside recommendations for short term rental insurance? I did have insurance with CBIZ insurance but they are discontinuing their short term rental policies. I did get a quote from Proper Insurance but was wondering if anyone has heard of them.
I own my home and want to make sure I am covered beyond Airbnb's Insurance.
