Issues with police

Hi Airbnb community,

Greetings from Dubai!

I am an NRI host and I need your help dealing with the police.

I hosted an Afghani family this month. The father-daughter duo were in Delhi because the father required surgery (medical tourism). The father is an Afghani citizen and the daughter is a US citizen.

They were supposed to check out on 23 October, but they tried to extend their visa at the FRRO and gave my address. The police came last night (23 October), and now we are being harassed because we don’t have the required permission to be hosting on Airbnb.

I keep soft copies of government IDs of all guests. I only accept families, and host infrequently, by choice.

The listing is a furnished floor in my home in Greater Kailash 2.

Slightly confused your profile says Delhi but your listing is in Dubai?

If you know you don't have permission from your apartment management to let through BNB then this is a risk you have chosen to have.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have been caught out.
