It won't accept my cell phone number...

I just signed up with Airbnb. I put in my cell  phone number and I got the following message: You'll need to use a different phone number, we can't support this one.

Why is that?? I had to use my landline number. I can't text with it. Why is it not accepting my cell phone number??

@Marla15 Probably the reason is your operator, consider downloading the Airbnb app on your phone if possible you will receive all notifications from guests faster than receiving sms from Airbnb via your operator. Oomesh, thank you for your response. I have downloaded the Airbnb app on my phone. I realize now,  that perhaps the reason why it would not accept my cell phone number is because it's a Tracfone (prepaid) cell phone. I've had for years now but I am assuming that Airbnb does not consider it a legit mobile number. 😞

But that is okay. I can still use the App on my phone to access Airbnb notifications and/or messages from rental owners. So all is good.
