Hi, I'm hosting in Belgium and I just learned that I am not allowed to as I rent the apartment myself.
Is that a case of the law so do I need to fear that some government investigator might check up on it and sue me? Or is this just a thing between me and the landlord, so if he is cool with it, can I still host??
Thanks for your help!!
Hi Sasha,
You do need and agreement with your landlord otherwise its not legal. But if he is okay with it there is no problem. And it will also have an impact on your tax declaration as you are not the owner.
Hope this helps!

@Zola1 Hello,
Do you have any experience with renting out through Airbnb ?
I heard that you have to register your apartment through Tourism Vlaanderen if you want to rent out In Bruges. Do you know if this is really necessary ?
What if I am officially living in the place and I just want to rent a part of it? Like a room or something. Is that allowed ?
Thank you in Advance
Leon
Hey Leon,
Ik zie dat m'n reactie achterhaald is en dat je ondertussen 2 plaatsen verhuurt.
Hoe loopt het? Heb je een melding gemaakt bij Toerisme Vlaanderen?
Mvg,
Florian
@Sascha9 if you illegally sub let your apartment, this is a matter for the landlord. Nothing to do with the government. Your landlord could evict you.

Hello @Leon118, perhaps you could ask this question on the Dutch/Belgian community https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Community-Center-NL/ct-p/Community-Center-Dutch.
