Level ratings

We have been hosting with Airbnb for nearly two years but I am new to the Community Centre.  My question is how are the 'Level' ratings I see, by respondents names, decided?

Many thanks for all the interesting discussions.

Hi @Cathy463, and welcome. The level ratings refer only to how much a person participates in the CC. Posting, commenting and so on.

Thank you @Ava30 for your welcome and explaination.  Have a great day!

Whats CC. Posting, Commenting? Please explain for us clearly

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while. CC is Community Center, this posting forum. Posting is Posting as in Posting Discussion topics,  Comments is comments as in when you comment on a Post.

What are the criteria for the levels in the CC?? Level 1 ie: 10 interactions? Just wondering. Also wondering how to paste badges into my website? I tried but it said it was too long but I don't see exactly where on my AirBnB listing to paste anything??? Thank-you!

Hi @Viktoria56 🙂

There is no criteria for the levels. If you participate in discussions, getting likes etc. in this community you will eventually get a higher level or I don't know how to explain it 🙂  By badges do you mean the superhost badge or something else?

Best, Sandra

HI Sandra, Thanks for that. I went to some place like superhost or something and it says that I have 12 eviews and something else. It didn't really look like a badge yet (I'm new) but then it says if you want to copy the html for your badge and paste it on to your website??? Maybe it wasn't a badge. I have superhost status but I got it after the evaluation in January so they don't acknowledge it officially until April. Just wondering.

Airbnb pays host $300 a month that are level 10 and participate in the CC at least once a week, additionally, if one’s answer to a problem becomes a "featured Answer" you get a $100 bonus.

It’s called the “Payed Host councillor programme” apparently I’m the first person in the programme, and I’ve been asked to nominate other hosts to join the programme.

As with the ratings/review/SH system on the Airbnb platform, the level ratings in the CC are nothing more than gamification - ie tools and techniques to play people, usually unbeknownst to those being played.

Gamification is the process of taking something that already exists – a website, an enterprise application, an online community – and integrating game mechanics into it to motivate participation, engagement, and loyalty. Gamification takes the data-driven techniques that game designers use to engage players, and applies them to non-game experiences to motivate actions that add value to a business.
