Long Term Reservation

Hi

I have my first 28 day guests. Wondering what to do for cleaning the apartment?

Any suggestions of what is acceptable greatly appreciated

It's a tough one, @Fiona259. On one hand I think they're almost 'tenants', so it's up to them to clean up after themselves, but on the other hand - if they're paying a decent rate (ie. not massively discounted) - perhaps offer two hours cleaning every week?

You do not offer a serviced apartment, so as far as cleaning goes it is normally up to the guest.  That said, the guest might expect a different approach, so I suggest you discuss with them.  Some guests would not want the host to enter the apartment while staying, others would welcome a weekly cleaning.  Getting into the apartment on a weekly basis will also allow you to check that everything is running smoothly and guests are behaving.

It also depends on how the apartment is set up.  If there is a washing machine they could do their own towels and linen if you provide double sets.  Or you can agree on a linen and towel exchange at suitable intervals.

we have it in our house rules " mandatory light cleaning and towels /linens change will be scheduled approximately 1x / week. "

It gives us a possibility to keep it under control and doesn't have to deal with possible complete disaster after one month.

But we allow max 15 nights and don't offer any weekly discounts so it doesn't happen often.
