Low down in listing

We have a property in a small village where there are no more than 8 or so  other airbnb properties. So why is it that when I search for our property using the name of our village, we show up on about the 8th page, after properties in towns and villages 10 miles away? It seems so wrong! We have universally great reviews but need more guests! If our low ranking is because we haven't had enough guests, it seems self defeating. Help

Hello @Juliet51 ,

Airbnb initially displays a more wider area to give people more choice. But as soon you zoom in on the search map towards "Gweek", you listing shows up on first page. But as there are only 8 to 10, at bottom of results it still displays some "more homes neary".

Best regards,

Emiel

iltHi Emiel. Thank you so much for replying. Yes, I too have found that zooming on the map shows us up, but it strikes me as very odd that if I search with the ONLY filter applied being 'Gweek', we don't show up till way down the list despite being one of around only 10 properties with that address! Mad!

@Juliet51 - my friend told me the more you play around with your calendar, your pictures, and edit your listing, the higher up you will go in the search. I don’t know if it’s true, but I do feel like I’m consistently at the top now when I do mess around in my listing! Try that.

Thanks very much natasha. I've heard that too. I'll just have to keep fiddling!
