Main door destroyed by guest

Hello everyone,

Could somebody give me an advice on how to contact a human being in airbnb, please? An email, a phone number, please?

I had a guest who left damages behind (around 2200 US dollars), I have completed the police and airbnb reports and my airbnb contact then disappeared. Of course the guest is not reachable and did not reimburse me.

I have written to the resolution team during 3 months and SILENCE. So there's no host guarantee... My issue in the resolution center is shown closed and ''resolved by airbnb''.

Thus, I have decided to remove my 3 properties from the airbnb system. No follow-up, no information, no reply, no trust.

Awaiting comments and advice, please.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Denise

No news from Nathan, as it happened in the past. Nathan did not have the means to reimburse me the keys he lost the 1st time. It was EUR5.50. He has no insurance at all (responsabilité civile). I am still shocked with all the things that happened, all of the violence expressed because he could not find the keys for the 2nd time? Does a normal person do this? I work for a company 50 hours a week and it is, at this moment, very difficult to focus on my job, knowing my apartment is exposed with a broken door, it is extremely dirty and some other repairs are to be done, such room's door (volet) to terrace to be fixed, wall painting in the room around the broken door and around the area that Nathan has put his home office. Am I going to pay for all of this, financially and emotionally? Nathan does not have neither the means nor the maturity and responsibility to face it. He left lots of personal documents, such as invoices. He owes quite a lot of money and he is unemployed. He came to work in Geneva in September and has been dismissed after a week. I've called his past employer. I don't have all invoices and did not have the time to repair or replace anything. I am now attaching some quote price received. I do not have one for the cleaning that will surely take lots of hours, because he left all of his waste, old clothing, papers, bottles, an old desk and chair to be thrown, etc. I have lots of pictures showing the flat just before his arrival (end of September for the check-in) and pictures from December, when I have written you informing of his agressive behaviour and from now, when I have been to the flat after he broke the door. Two policemen came to check the incident (there's an official report) and a neighbour went to the police as a witness, since she recognized Nathan.

You requested 2200 CHF from Nathan

The cost to replace the main white door that you have broken, to repair the grey door from the room you have broken as informed in December 2015, to paint the part of the living room (as informed in December 2015) where you have set your office without my authorisation (reminder - it was only a room rent, not the whole flat) and that you put your feet agains the white wall, to replace the mop that you have broken(as informed in December 2015), to replace the HDMI cable that is no longer there as I have noticed on Sunday January 31st. Besides of that, you have smoked in the apartment (it is forbidden and part of house rules). Now cleaning services are needed, to clean the full apartment left in full disorder and not cleaned up during 4 months, get rid of your kitchen and various wastes (left an old desk and chair, old clothes, underware, papers, documents, etc.). It was part of the published house rules under the official airbnb page, that I have printed and you have signed upon arrival.

Quite common for cases to be closed with no payment, see the recent article below for guidance.

Not sure after 14 months you will get anywhere but the ways of contacting AirBnB are in the very forum you posted in.

Seems the best method is to involve local media, may be too late for that now.

Thank you David.

It is really shocking what happened in the article found in the link you sent. Compared to that, my loss is minor.

It does not justify airbnb practice and attitude. I have tried to contact airbnb during 3 months... no reply. This lack of respect is the worse customer experience I had. I am telling everyone, hosts or guests, they should be aware of these kind of situations. Social media is there and face to face opportunities to inform potential landlords and guests as well.

Good luck everyone.
