Married guest had a hookup... awkward!

Married guest had a hookup... awkward!

This is a bit of a windge.

So this guy is traveling alone and staying in our home for a few days, he just arrived today and has never used airbnb before.

Its around midnight, we were watching movie as he came back from dinner with a woman. Hes like 'Hi shes my friend, can she stay for a while?' WHAT CAN WE SAY?!? NO?!?!?!?! Basically had no choice so we said yea (we did not know what hes up to at that moment).

Then we heard them...... She left at around 1:30am. I felt so awkward and bad.

1. This is our first 'hookup experience'.

2. He brought someone without telling us in advance.

3. He's married. I dont want to judge just it really brings out a bad vibe.

My hubby wanna talk to him tomorrow abour mainly 2 and maybe 1. Im bit worried about the review he might give. And i personally hate confrontations. What would you guys do?

Awkard for sure!  I find it interesting, @Piper-And-Andrew0, that for one room you have a house rule of no guests and for the other room you do not have that rule.  Is this intentional?

I would suggest that you send a message to the guest regarding reminding no additional guests rather than speaking with him, because you want to have a trail of the issue that can be seen by Air BNB in case it is needed to involve them.

People who stay in hotels don't have this restriction of no guests and that might be his mind set.  If he is new to the shared home environment he would need to be educated.  Your message can be informative and not accusatory.

Hi thank you! I actually FORGOT to put this in coz this listing is new and i wrote  everything again 😞

Seems ackward but he's clearly in violation with your house rule

- Only guest(s) booked can stay, no visits or sleepovers, no hookups

You could easily contact Airbnb and have him find another place and keep the money. You did nothing wrong - he did and should know better. buuuut you did seem to accept him having her over though.... If you're better off without him I'd call Airbnb and tell them or have a chat with him tomorrow and tell him its not acceptable for you in your private home and give him a last chance.

How long is he staying?

I did add that after the event 😞 and my hubby has already talked about it respectfully. Hes friendly enough!

When he asked they were like standing right at the door and we thought they just gonna have a chat...  i think it would be also uncomfortable to not let her in isnt it?

Update... clearly he did plan to do this, and plans to do it a couple more times. Unlike what he told us: hes here to hang out with some 'mates' 😞

Hes prob going to find another airbnb place thats ok with this.

@Piper-And-Andrew0  So he is going to cancel and go somewhere else?  Be sure to summarize any conversations you or your husband has had on the Air BNB messaging system.  He could call Air BNB and ask for a refund because of some complaint unrelated to his breaking rules.
