Thank you Airbnb for the email updating both major parties view on Airbnb regulation in NSW.
The response from the Liberal/National Parties is no change to what has been published previously.
The reponse from the Labour Party has me a little concerned.
I believe it is stating:
ALL hosts will need to register - whether sharing a room or letting a complete apartment. Unknown what will be the cost or process of registration.
Where hosts are not present it is not clear yet if/what caps or schemes will be implemented - to be decided by collecting and analysing evidence during the proposed registration scheme. Back to square one.
In the attached letter it also states there will be a need to comply with the local SEP. Now I accept I may be a little dense here - I tried to identify what SEP is - but all I could find in my searches were Socialist Equity Party and I am sure it is not that.
Can anyone help?
I am hoping that it is not saying that we must conform to local council planning requirements which we know would include forms and inspections, and can vary by Council, and can be very time consuming and costly..
