Need more Security to prevent hacks (account got hacked)

My account got hacked and and there was like 80+ inquires made to some city in China for a "party".

This is the message was send to 80+ host

The message says this"你好,朋友们开小派对,需要房。请我微:daren686"

Not sure if I'm the victim or the host might become the victim as she/he asks the host to contact this hacker through wechat (chinese app) using that use name...

I changed my password and increased security by adding the feature of having a notification if I get logged into a different browser. Concerned and pissed at this hacked.

Looking at the log-on history,  it's very obvious there's a hacking. I'm logged in at China several time and then in between in LA (I'm in San Francisco and have zero upcoming trip).  I wish Airbnb will implement a way to detect such hacks and prevent it in the future... luckily no transaction happened....

Do not use the same email/password combination on all sites. Google for best practice on how to generate secure passwords. Airbnb supports two-factor authentication which you can turn on under "Account Settings" => "Security". That will make your account a lot more secure because it costs too much to hack it.

They do by providing the notifications that something was changed. They also provide a Security tab under Account Settings.  It's more likely that if this person got your Airbnb account information, they have access to other accounts in your name.

I cant log in with my email address I do with facebook and somebody else's name appears, please help my real name is not Ekaterina is the hacker's

Something like this JUST happened to me.

I am in NYC and woke up an hour ago to get a drink of water (it was about 4:30am) and decided to quickly check my email.  Thank goodness I did as I saw about 100+ spam emails from China and several from AirBnB.  It looks like someone in China used my account to reserve a room for February 13 - 15, 2017 for a party of 10, and the listing accepts payment immediately with no refunds.  They booked it on a credit card which I don't believe is mine... I'm trying to figure it out still.  I canceled the reservation but it only refunds back 40 HKD cleaning fee and the total amount is about 9000 HKD which is about $1000 USD.  I really hope this isn't one of my credit cards, I honestly can't tell at the moment since it only gives you the last four digits so I am frantically searching all my accounts.

My login history also says my account was logged in from China using two different IP addressed about 2 weeks apart. I have not been anywhere in or near China in over a year!

I'm in contact with the listing owner and he seems to be innocent of any wrongdoing as he seems just as confused as I am (or.. it could be a ploy).  I'm not sure how my account was compromised as I never click links through emails, and also I have not received anything that looks like an AirBnB email in recent memory.

Can't find any way to contact Airbnb outside of that contact form (which took ages to find, btw).  This is beyond ridiculous...

The second post in this section is a guide about how to conntact AirBnb.

Sorry to hear about your hack. It is very frustrating. I found the best way to resolve this was to contact AirBnB directly via phone -- +1-415-800-5959 or +1-855-424-7262 (toll-free) . They are available 24/7. Unfortunately, all those people that were "inquired" will be replying you even after you change your password etc.

hi, i just got in the morning a similar message ending darren686, is it my account which has been hacked or someome elses account?
