New Host , Guest Issues

Hello

Just new to this hosting thing! I had a group of ladies in their mid 50s stay at my place, and I seem to be having problems.

First they were requesting early arrival, so I left my place early so they could come sooner. They didn't arrive until after check in time and it snowed in the meantime. A week later she messages me about their friend fracturing their foot only after I found they had spilt coffee on my brand new area rug and couldn't get it out so told them I was going to need to call a professional.

She is claiming my wood deck into the house is unsafe

They also broke my step on the stairs inside the house and said the stairs lifted and another lady almost fell.  We just bought the place and have had over 100 friend and family and kids in there going up and down with no problems

Has anyone else had something similar? Are we protected through airbnb? I do have additional insurance but want to cover all my bases. How do I respond to this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I can understand your concerns.  Have you tried emailing AirBNB directly?  I found them super awesome to deal with when I had a guest issue last year (my guests brought the grill inside the cabin and actually grilled inside and then left the door open when they left in the middle of a snowstorm-good times!)  AirBNB got back to me right away and were super.  I know there's coverage from AirBNB for your property, but I'm not sure about liability.  I'm currently in the process of getting covered for short-term vacation rentals.  Sometimes this activity isn't covered on your homeowners.  It's good to check.

Thank you for replying! I will email them.  THE GRILL INSIDE???? OMG
