New Meticulous Star System

I have noticed AirBNB appears to have updated the way both hosts and guests see star ratings.  There is a now a new screen for me when I look at guest averages.  The big difference is that the progress towards Superhost appears to have disappeared, but added are easier to navigate pages and icons showing compliments and improvement requests.

On the room rental pages, the stars are now listed in individual categories as blue bars, and when they are close to five, they actually cover up the averages (like 4.8 and 4.9) so they can't be seen.  The overall rating is now visible down to two decimal point (4.71, 4.89, etc).  I don't know if I like that part.  Before, if you had like a 4.9 or even a 4.8, it was nearly impossible to see it wasn't five full stars.

What do others think about this?  Will it last?

I would like to understand the reason for the two decimal point change. I know it is all about personal perception of this subject, but I think that this new system kinda hurts (again) the hosts.

In my case I have 42 reviews and full 5 stars. I would be upset if it changed to 4.99, just because one of many guest didn't give me 5 stars. As I said, it is all about personal perceptions.

In my opinion, the old system was fixing rating deviations naturally.

I don't know how you did it, keeping a perfect 5 star rating with over 40 reviews.  I'm impressed.  I have over 90% 5 stars at this point, but every so often will always get that one person go gives a four star rating.  I just had a person yesterday for a very brief one night stay.  They showed up close to 11PM at night - we actually thought they were going to be a no-show as we had no clue where they were.  When they got in late, they were shown the room, and asked if they needed anything.  After giving them new towels, they went to bed and were gone the next day and left a 4 star overall with threes in two categories saying we were rude to them.  I'm actually thankful we didn't get a three overall as other hosts had rated them low as well probably for similar issues.
