Odd booking requests

Recently, I have gotten two requests to "approve" bookings.  But I do not require preapproval.  It seems like someone is trying to scam me somehow.  Both times they have no profile at all to view.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

if you have instant booking enabled and some of your guests can but others can't book instantly then you probably have set some special booking requirements such as " recommendations from other hosts", "profile picture" or "verified ID". If your guests have it then they can instantly book otherwise they can only send a booking request.

 

If you don't have such requirements then maybe your house rules are set like "not suitable for kids" so guests who travel with kids can't instantly book.

 

If you start getting only booking requests and no instant bookings at all, it can be that your instant booking option is turned off by Airbnb. You would still see IB enabled but in fact, it would be disabled. It may happen when the host canceled a reservation or declined too many requests lately.
