Hi,
I have some people who booked... and the payout is a strange amount. It doesn't relate to my pricing at all. The support team told me first that it's a currency conversion.. I told them this shouldnt have anything to do with the payout..then they said I had smart pricing on.. but they payout is less than my minimum and not a round figure - as far as I can see they always price on a round figure. They can't tell me how it was calculated - in fact I'm being treated like an idiot - I'm accountant 🙂
Has anyone hit this before?
I am fairly new to this but why is it that we don't get given a basis for the calculations?
@Annelies24 Of the 250+ bookings I've been paid for, a handful (only) have been round figures. This is down the the service charge being a non rounded-up/down percentage (see below). Have you looked into the detailed breakdown of one of your bookings? It's all there in black and white.
£63.50 x 4 nights £254.00
Service fee £9.14
Total £244.86
I meant the payout before fees....
and yes, it was only one night so it should have been clear. What they should have though is the calculation for the night. ie $65 + 3x $15 = $110 (it was a 5 person booking)... which is what it should have actually been.... but actually they had a "system error" and had just paid an unrelatable amount...
The fact that youre accountant and can't fathom the Airbnb calculations should give you an insight into how Airbnb does their business, its designed to be obtuse, so that vast majority of Host don't have clues as to how expensive Airbnb fees actually are.
Airbnb has the combination to your bank vault and they have no problem helping themselves to your money.
Haha, it's a key!
Hi Annelies, yes I am having the same problem, where my minimum smart pricing amount is R230 per person per night but the calculation shows that I'm going to get R184 per night - I can't remember that Airbnb commission was at 24%!
Think I'll just up my minimum price if they decide to charge people so little on our behalf.
