Hello everyone and @Lizzie
I'm a host in Budapest. My last two payments have not arrived to my bank account. I've been a host for almost 4 year and this has never happened to me before. Every time I got the email about the release the money was here the next working day.
I've got the usual "payment released" emails for both bookings 24 hours after check-in and my transaction history shows them as fulfilled payments. But the money has still not arrived to my bank account and all the final deadlines are already gone. 2 weeks since then. I know the rules and have not changed any of my payout details. My bank account has been the same for decades.
I am already through all the circles, twitter, emails, phones, facebook. I just get the well learnt cliche answers like "be patient" "we are working hard on your case" and "we paid and your bank is the problem" blabla. I am through very frustrating days. First I thought I was alone and something went wrong with my account but I got in touch with other hosts in Budapest an none of us got paid. So there must be something else in the backround and airbnb does not seem wanting to inform us properly.
Every one I contacted at the customer service has forwarded my case at one stage to some other unknown department promising they would contact me promptly. Well this is a loooong "promptly". I guess they don't know what the problem is and their bosses at airbnb who probably know well, they do not want to share the information with us.
This sh.tty way of treating their clients is unacceptable. First saying they paid so everything is OK. When this doesn't work then my bank is repsonsible for the delay and be patient. Why aren't they honest?
I am very disappointed and starting to loose my trust. I am seriously considering notifying my upcoming guests asking them to cancel their bookings as I can't be sure if I will ever get paid by airbnb.
I think problems sometimes occure so if we are informed in advance we would not be frustrated. We do have the right to be properly informed if anything happens with our money.
If anyone is in the same situation please write I will keep you also updated.
Best regards, Tamara
I'm pretty new to airbnb, just starting hosting in Jan. But i'm on my 7th guest and have not receieved a single payment. I know that its not that they don't check their emails, because they did reply to my first email, but since the deadlines have passed and I have written back to them, I have not receieved a single reply!
Im in the same station. My guest checked in 3 weeks ago and I have not receive the payment as of yet. He is checking out next week. If i do not receive a payment by than i will have to cancel all the other reservations, because i cannot trust airbnb. I have been calling airbnb daily. The respond is the same. We will get back to you. I had never deal with a customer service this bad. Very frustrated.
I've had an airbnb rental for 3 years. My payouts have always arrived in my account, except this week. Hhoow did you find a phone number for them?
Good question, I'm looking for a phone number too!!!
