Payout delay due to guest issue

I had a major problem with the last guest I hosted. I ended up having to ask for some of the security deposit (which she refused to pay). I decided to let it go and not involve Airbnb but I still haven't received my payout from the guests stay in my checking account and it was suppose to arrive by Wednesday. Is it taking longer because I asked for money from the guest?

Not related, I assume you got the message it was on its way.

I agree that it's not related. Also, the only way to see the security deposit is to involve Airbnb. No one will pay on their own. I've successfully charged two guests for damages and if there is anytime I have felt like Airbnb was actually on my side it was when I let them deal with those issues.

If it is within 14 days of your guest's check out and before your next guest arrives, you can still request reimbursement from your guest via the Resolution center. If they do not respond within 72 hours, then you can and should involve AirBnb. It is otherwise probably naive to think your guest will pay you.

For future reference whether the guests agree or not to pay damages through the security deposit, BNB will most likely side with you if you have pictures and evidence that damage was carried out by the guest.

Next time raise a request through the resolution centre, you give your side, the guest gives theirs, if they don't agree they were responsbile, BNB will arbitrate.
