I would like to know what Airbnb does for the host when you have had a bad experience hosting. We recently had a very poor experience where the renters left the place a mess, used up supplies, went through a patio door that will have to be replaced, and so forth. I wrote a review but they have not. Is this their way of being able to continue to use Airbnb's site without any bad reviews. If they do not write me a review they will never have the bad one listed and other hosts will not be aware that they are poor guests.

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is true - I am both a host and a guest, and I recently had a third experience as a guest where I left constructive feedback PRIVATELY to a host (most recently bring attention to obvious black mold on the ceiling of a bathroom) while leaving a good PUBLIC review, and my guest reviews have not been published, AND the host never responded to my private comment. It appears that reviews are not published unless both parties complete the review - is this different as a host?
Would appreciate clarification from anyone who can chime in.
If both host and guest write reviews they are published at the time the second review is written. If only the host or the guest writes a review it will be posted after 14 days.
I would also like to know bc I’ve been trying to report a bad guest and am not getting anywhere. My guest broke every house rule there was. They were even extinguishing cigarettes in a cardboard box! And there’s no smoking on the premises. I’m furious that they would put my house in danger like that. Airbnb is telling me to report to the Resolution Center, but I’m not seeking money damages. I need to WARN Airbnb about this guest.
@Carol612 Go to the guests Profile and click on the Flag to report the Guest pick Something else and write it there. The guest will not be able to book you again also if you say Yes Block.
@Mark1162 It has been working on and off for the last month. Some programming glitch. I used it two weeks ago and it was fine, last week it was back to not working again. So keep trying and it might work at some point.
