WARNING, gripe ahead. 😉
Last night again, a guest was allowed to book a day that had been blocked on my calendar. This is now the third time this has happened over the last three months. I had to contact the guest, who was luckily very understanding, and canceled immediately. I have instant book on, and now I have an automated review, saying that I canceled a reservation. 😕
I contacted Airbnb once again, and received the attached message. Has this happened to anyone else? I am really getting tired of this and am seriously thinking of not hosting with Airbnb anymore. This is just becoming too stressful for me. Their customer service is slow to respond, and generally not very helpful. 😕

I’m having the same problem. I cannot have guests arriving and leaving on the same date and AirBnb does not allow me to block the calendar because the date has been taken. They don’t reply. I don’t know why to do. Do you simply cancel the booking? If we keep cancelling, don’t we receive a penalty and end up at the end of the list? What do you adivice? Did you manage to have a response? Because that link that sent to you is useless.
Hi @Christine1485 🙂
Call airbnb and let them cancel for you. Do never ever cancel yourself. You will get penalized and won't be able to become superhost for a year. Always let airbnb cancel. Best, Sandra
Thank you so much for you adivice. It’s really helpful
Just talked to AirBnb. Thank you very, very much, Sandra and Linda
@Christine1485 I don't know if you know this but you can choose in the settings that the day of check out is blocked automatically when someone books. You can costumize your calender under settings so it fit your needs.
Rule #1 of hosting on Air BNB: Whenever there is a need to cancel due to a system error, contact Air BNB to do it.
Hi @Ann489 🙂
Call airbnb ASAP. What most likely happend is that the guest sent you a request to you asking YOU to cancel. When that happends it looks like it was you who did the cancellation. Call airbnb and tell them what happend and they can correct it. You will be penalized and won't be able to be become a superhost for a year if you do nothing.
How about increasing the prices on all the dates you wish to block to 9999, before blocking out.?
It's not a technical solution but should at least stop unwanted bookings meanwhile.
