Problems with verification process

Hi everyone,

 

I just requested to book a place which requires me to go through the step of verify my identity. I provided my identity card and it asked me to link to Facebook/Google/LinkedIn or take a video.

 

I tried to conntect with Facebook, it opens a new window and ask me to login, after I had login, it redirect me to the original page and nothing happens. I tried to connet it again but it still the same! Then, I tried to take a video, after I took it, I could watch the video I took, but I had no idea whether I had submit the video or not. 

 

I also tried to go to the profile page and verify my Facebook account in Trust adn Verification, but it only showing connecting and no response.

 

I would like to ask how could I know the progress of my verification? As I took reserve to the place which only got 10 hours left, I want to complete the reservation as soon as possible.

Hi @Heidi86,

 

Are you able to play the video back on the site?  If so, your video has been uploaded and is being reviewed by our team.  This can take up to 24 hours but is generally approved in a few hours.

 

You should also be able to check your status here:

As an alternative, if you have a Google account or wish to create a Google account (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/27441).  If you wish to verify this way, go to https://www.airbnb.com/users/edit_verification and connect your Google account in the “Add More Verifcations” section.  If you have not already added your government issued identification, please add it here: https://www.airbnb.com/verify

I currently have two guests trying to book with the same problem. I believe it's a technical glitch- waiting on a response from Airbnb to sort it out!

i have just found the same issue  and am really annoyed - the last year or so I have spent more time in airbnbs working away than at home yet today I try and book a quick break and I cant because they want ID and Airbnb doesn't like my pictures , no hep from Airbnb customer services so after a day of trying I am call it a day with Airbnb and just going to make sure I shout about it to raise awareness as it is not only frustrating for the booker, but losing the owners business

I'm having problems taking a photo or uploading one so I can't even get past that stage of the process.  I've had to cancel a planned trip because of this as there is no other suitable accommodation available.   Very frustrating!

Hello dear collegues,

The discussion finished?....But the problem is NOT resolved! I lost recently a guest who didn't succeed to verify himself. It seems that DUTCH pasports AND licency patents are difficult for AIRBNB to verify. 

After more than a week I was phoned by a new girl working for the Help Desk and she was also very surprised. They contacted my potential guest to help him, but of course that was to late for him to book at me as he finished his holidays already. 

 

What is AIRBNB doing with this problem? It has to be resolved by them, NOT by the community. 

 

I spend too many hours resolving problems with bookings. Because often guests tell me how difficult it is to let verify themselves.
