Proper Check-In

I have checked-in at a studio that I booked a few days ago. When I originally booked the rental, I have let my host know that I’m here for both work and personal. I booked for a month and asked to extend for 2 weeks since I have some personal reasons to take care of. My hosts said the place was available and she would block the dates for me. So I asked her today to confirm if I’m still good for my extension and all she said was she wanted to meet me to properly check me in and to get to know me better? I’m so confused. I have rented with a few rentals before and have extended but this is the first time a host asked for a meeting to properly check me in. Should I be concerned?

@Christina945  I don't think you have any reason for concern. A lot of hosts feel more comfortable meeting a guest who is staying long-term- some hosts meet and greet all their guests, even if there is a self check-in option. If you didn't want to have to interact with your host, a hotel would have been a more appropriate choice.

Hosts have no way of knowing whether a guest is the type who will trash the place out or invite more people to stay, or whatever. This is someone's private home, so of course they have concerns about the guests being good guests. I don't think it's weird for the host to want to meet you to get a "vibe" before agreeing to extend the reservation.
