I am coming to Madrid as part of the auxiliary program, working in a school in Madrid teaching English!

I am interested in potential long term rental, but for sure wanting to rent for the month of September!

Your apartment would be perfect for me to get to know Madrid and become adjusted.

I am a bit co fused about the long term cancelation policy, for renting for one month, I do not plan to change my plans but want to book a place with some security to make changes up until August, in case my visa doesn’t come through.

I saw that you had a moderate cancellation policy, but when I put in the dates it says zero refund for the first 30 days, and I’d only be booking for 30 days.

If you could please explain I would greatly appreciate it!

It sounds like this person wants you to make a commitment to hold your listing for them while they figure out if they will be able to be there in September. How easy would it be for you to find someone else to take this person's place if they can't get the visa/change their mind?  Someone who doen't consider the host's position may not be an ideal guest, either.

Personally, I'd diplomatically & gracefully decline to save your place at no cost, except maybe to You, Sally
