Refunding AirBnB

I'm confused on how much I'll be getting back from this refund. Will be getting the full $688 or only $49 back?airb.png

@Myles34  It looks pretty clear to me. You are getting $49 back. The place had a 50% cancellation policy. You only paid 50% to start with, instead of the entire booking, so what you paid was the 50% of the total nightly booking. Therefore you don't get the 50% you paid back.

You are being charged 50% of the original TOTAL booking cost- $448.50 plus the service fee (that has nothing to do with the host- it is an Airbnb booking fee) of $140.58= $589.08. You already paid $638.58, therefore you are owed $49.50.

Cancellation policies are based on the total booking cost, not on what you paid up front (It seems most guests fail to actually read the terms of the cancellation policies). The pay half up front option is only there as a convenience to guests, so they don't have to come up with all the money for a booking at once.
