Request to book

I put in a request to book and then they automatically charged my card the next day?  Is this normal?  I've put in requests to book and then when it's approved I submitted payment on my own.

@John2439 a request to book is different from an inquiry. When you submit a request to book, as soon as the host approves it your reservation is automatically confirmed and your payment is made. When you submit an inquiry, when the host pre-approves then you have the option to confirm and pay.
