Reviews Guidelines

A host that lied in response to other negative complaints, mis-sold his property, and failed to mention that the loch water nearby had killed a dog and made others seriously ill.

We made a review that reflected our experience and fell within the review guidelines on the help page.
We have had our review removed and are not being given an opportunity to amend it.
The reason given is that we violated the guidelines by mentioning the surrounding area and the 'local resturant'.
The property was not a home, it was one of 45 cabins in a holiday park, which again went against his description.

Is this standard practice to protect bad hosts and tell customers to take a hike?

@Lauren461 actually no, it is very dificult to have a review removed by Airbnb. Your review was removed because it must have been outside of their regulations and such reviews should be removed. In the future try making factual honest reviews using their regulations.

The reason we were given was that we cannot mention outside businesses like resturaunts in our review.
We cannot find that anywhere in the review guidelines. Also, the resturaunt in question was on site, and part of the holiday park that we rented a cabin in.
Something we were mislead to believe it was a private cabin in the woods, it was actually number 5 of 45.

I’m sorry you had a crummy experience.

Mentioning another business inadvertently in your review may inadvertently negatively impact on that other business that you did not directly book with.

If it’s a holiday complex you stayed at then review them on trip advisor
