I rent out 2 rooms and a bath in my where I live full time. I had a guest reservation for 15 days and he left at day 5. I asked if there was a problem and he said no, I also ask if there was something I could have done differently. Again no!!! I did not ask for a refund and I did not offer one. I have been doing this for almost 2.5 years and it has been great! For the first time with this guest I felt very uncomfortable. I seemed to spread out over the rest of my home. One night I was in my bedroom  (with door locked) and I heard music. I proceed to silcence my TV and realized he was in the living room watching TV , there is a TV in the guest area. I do allow people to store thing s in the frig and cook if they clean up. While I was out my neighbor same a van with out of state plates park at my home and several people got out and entered my home. I didn't know this until he left. I have never given anyone a bad review and hate to give him a thumbs down. I really don't know how to proceed. Also my kitchen sink was clogged after he left and I had to get a plumber.

Thanks

@Donna181  Is your hesitation due to the fact that you don't like to write negative reviews or is the guest's behavior within your general sense of acceptable?  If the latter, you could write something neutral but honest including the guest's lack of understanding of boundaries in a shared space.  However if he broke your house rules, you should write a negative review.  His leaving early could still result in a request for refund depending on your cancellation policy.
