Just finished police report on theft by guest and cohorts.
My whole flat was ransacked. Desk top Apple computer torn apart, some computer chips on table, Dyson heater taken, supplies, and my kids’ craft and art supplies.
my estimate so far is around $2,000.
Anyone know now how long Airbnb takes to respond? Called this morning and they said it was escalated but could give no time line.
Have you submitted a claim to the guest.Airbnb should have advised you to do this before making a claim through the Resolution Centre. Maybe not in this case. What did they advise?
You could chase them back if they haven't given you information about next steps.
I'm sure you have done this already but get as much photo and video evidenace as possible of damages and any CCTV or ring camera evidence of the them leaving with your goods.
These criminals took 3 days looking into every nook and crany of my flat. They saw our personal financial records, took every electronic or computer related item with them.
I recorded the criminals dragging my suitcase on the street towards me while I took pictures from my cell phone. I am wise enough to stay my distance but it was difficult as I watched them board the train.
This is sounding like an organized criminal gang. I just want fellow hosts to be careful, especially with instant booking reservations.
Stuff can be replaced and I am relieved we are safe.
