Safety in Long Beach, CA

I just booked a place in Long Beach, CA (specifically in Lakewood Village). Although I booked and did my research, I'm still a bit apprehensive on the location after reading some articles. I understand crime is everywhere but I want myself and my friends to be safe.

Has anyone visited/live/lived there and anything you can add to help?

If I were you. I'd Google police reports in that specific area. If you find nothing, at least tell your host that you are concerned about personal safety, while staying at the property and ask for some suggestions. Your best option is to use common sense like walking in well lit areas, staying in the group and not drawing lots of attention to yourselves.

Hi @Leah221  the Lakewood Village location is good. Here in Long Beach, most crimes occur in the North Long Beach area, and it is not near your location. I hope you have a great trip!
