"Your next payment will be charged on September 30 Your payment is scheduled. This is just a reminder, and there’s nothing you need to do.
1BR Studio nice area! Entire home/apt hosted by Dailyn Scheduled payment 2 of 3"
If Airbnb continues to charge for a reservation that was (supposedly) cancelled by the host weeks before checking in (and I was never notified) that amounts to fraud. I have notified AmEx and they are also investigating. I do not not know who Airbnb claims to have "checked in", but it was not the person I made the reservation for. They are currently in a Marriott Residence Inn because the host never gave me the lockbox code.
Airbnb is just as guilty as host "Dailyn" for this scam. The next contact I make is with the Harris (TX) county authorities.
I guess if it required (?)---has anyone else had this problem with hosts and/or Airbnb?
Airbnb claims someone checked into the unit I reserved for 3 months----but it was not me or the person I reserved it for. The host claimed he cancelled it with Airbnb, they say no, but that someone checked in, (I never received the lockbox code, after many attempts) so are continuing with (and charging for) the reservation.
@Laurie657 Is the reservation still showing on your guest/traveler profile? If so, then it has not been cancelled. As a traveler, I always confirm reservations AND cancellations.
You obviously made a reservation for a person that was not you. Why? Third party reservations are not allowed, and as such, you have left the owner/host with no idea as to who should be staying. If your friend/family member did or did not show up, and you do not have a verified cancellation, then you are going to be charged until it is sorted out. I would go into your traveler profile and cancel before the next month is due and see if you can at least stop the automated process. Good luck.
