Security deposits

Hello,

I'm a new host yet to even have my first guests, but reservations have been made for later in July and there is a question regarding Security Deposits. I listed that one is required and my guest wrote me unclear as to whether or not what they paid to make the reservation included the deposit or not. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

The deposit is never deducted upfront, it is more of a safety measure which allows you to open a claim within 48 hours of the guest checking out in the event of any damages. If you put in a claim, Airbnb will e-mail the guest with details and if the guest accepts/ if Airbnb find in your favour then only then will Airbnb charge their card.

Thanks Ama!

Can anyone tell me where I can check if a security deposit has been paid? New, and this is my first guest and she is saying nothing is due even thought I have turned on my security deposit option when I first listed. Confused.
