My 1 person fee is £50 and my guest gets charged £8 service charge which is 16%.
I understand the service charge max is 12% why do I have an £8 charge and not £6?
Hi @Marion162
If you go to the receipt you will see the details and also there is note on the bottom says:
"Airbnb charges a fee from the reservation amount for use of the Airbnb online platform. Additionally, Airbnb may take a 3% foreign exchange fee. We include the foreign exchange fee in our service fees. As a result, the services fees on your VAT invoice may be different than the service fees you see on your reservation itinerary. The reservation amount is paid by the Guest through Airbnb to the Host."
So I think this is why it is more than 12% because there are other additional fees included there.
Good luck.
Thank you for reply. I did note my internationalnguest had a higher fee. however the 16% service charge is for a UK guest. £8 instead of £6. What is the other charge to increase to 16% and what are the bands of host fees to determine the increase up to 12%.

Hi @Marion162
I think you cant count it as £8 is 16% from £50. £8 is the total of service fees+ 3% exchange rate + 25% VAT.
The serivice fees is varies depend on how many days the guests made the booking.
For the host it will be charge around 3%
You can find all the info on the receipt and how much airbnb charge for the service fees and VAT.
