Hi all,
I am a 4month old host and need your advise on my listing description : )
I recently received a review from guest saying that my bathroom classification is not correct.
Please help me whether my understanding is correct or not.
The house that I live is the second story house and I litst two room separately on Airbnb (The house has my room + 2 guest rooms).
There is one toilet for each floor (2 toilets in total) and one bath room with a tub.
All these facilities are on shared basis with host and other guests.
Since the guests have access to all toilets and bathroom, I stated 1.5 bathroom for both of my listings.
However, the guest commented that because I put 1.5 for 2 separate rooms and they thought that the total is 3 for the entire house.
Is what they are saying correct?
Is it alright to count shared toilet and bathroom for bathroom classification?
If not, should I classify the shared bathrooms as ZERO?
Thanks for your help : )

@Taketoki0 As a traveler, I would consider your place to have, as you've listed it, 1.5 bathrooms. The typical meaning (at least here in the US) of a full bath is a room that contain both a toilet and bathing facilities (a tub, shower, or both). And the typical meaning of a half bath is one containing a toilet but no bathing facility. So, your home has one and half baths.
You might clarify the exact situation (sharing situation, layout) in your text.
@Taketoki0 I have the same problem. I booked an Apartment in Shinjuku for April 2020 . the listing saying 1.5 bath without stating how many toilet? I thought there is 1 full bath (1 toilet and 1 bathtub/shower) and another toilet. I did book and now i found out there is only 1 bathtub/shower room with no toilet and another room with toilet. 😞 . I am so confusing and frustrating because i need 2 toilets. If i cancel it, i will get charge for about $800 😞 what should i do?
@Taketoki0 it seems you are right. What the guest said didn't make huge sense.
Its not clear from what you say whether the rooms are on all floors (you own the house) or on the second floor (you own a flat in the house).
I am currently staying at an Airbnb in the United Kingdom which listed 1.5 baths. I have one room with toilet and sink. And one room with shower stall and sink. Was I wrong to assume we would have 2 toilets in this unit?
I have one large bathroom with shower, basin and bath tub, but no toilet. I have one bathroom with shower, basin and toilet, one with shower and basin but not toilet, and another with basin and toilet but no shower/bath. I have listed these as 3.5 shared bathrooms.
don't even have photos of all the bathrooms on my listings, nor do I go into any detail about the exact configuration of the bathrooms. Yet, I have honestly never had a guest express any confusion about that or say that they were expecting more toilets, showers or whatever, and I have hosted hundreds of guests.
The thing is, different places will have different set ups, and the options available when you create your listing are limited to full bathroom or half bathroom. Because there is no toilet, should I list this bathroom as a half rather than full? I personally do not think so, especially as I've never had any complaints.
If you have a specific requirement, like two toilets, and that has not been specifically stated on the listing, I would double check that with the host before you book rather than assume, but that's just my opinion!
