Special rates

Hello All, 

I recently had some guests stay and I sent them a special rate which was accepted.  The total amount the guest paid is now showing up as less, on my earings page, than the total amount I offered / they accepted.   How does this work?   I am looking specifically at the total amounts accepted and paid- before any taxes or airbnb cut ect.
