Split Payments / credit card cancelled in between

Hi!

I think this topic was on here once before but I want to ask this again just to make sure.

So, I made a successful reservation and choose the option to split the payment. The reservation has been accepted and I payed half of it too. Unfortunatly my credit card has been hacked, so when the final payment is due (which is in May) it can´t be processed with that card. I´m not able to change my payment method because with the spit payment method it has to be the same card.  I read that should wait until the payment is due and then failed and then I can change my payment method and use a diffrent card. Has anybody had the same issue and can tell me if that worked?

Yes I did. I just want reinsurance from other people who had the same issue. I bookes 3 accomodationand I don´t want it to be cancelled, so I want to make sure everything will work out.
