Stopping hostings for 90 days

 Hi guys

My son is going to stay in my AirBnB apartment for 3 months long. Do I need to canceal the Airbnb registration? Is there a option to stop hosting for a long period of time? What is the best way to follow in such case?

Thanks in advance.

@Sergio219

You can snooze or unlist your listing - there is no need to cancel the account.

@Sergio219 you can also just block off the dates in the calendar. Everything else can stay normal.

I agree with blocking the dates, because that way your listing can still be booked ahead for later dates, after it will be available again. I know people planning travel for things such as weddings and graduations often want to book well in advance.

Go to the host Calendar and select each day you want to make unavailable. On the right there are buttons for "Available" and "Blocked". Be sure to hit the SAVE button after you make the change.

If his plans change, you can make the dates available again the same way.

I have had to do the dates one day at a time. Someone may know how to select a number of days to edit availability at the same time.

However, if there is a chance your son will extend his stay, it might be best to snooze your listing after his move-in date. Then you will not have to deal with later having to cancel advance bookings.

@Sergio219@Mary507has some good advice. I'd add that you may want to think about how far ahead guests book your place. If it's usually 2-3 days before, I would snooze the listing as your bookings will restart when you unsnooze. If like us you have people booking for the summer holidays and beyond, it would be best to keep it active just block out the dates your son is staying.

I'd also put an extra week on the end to put right any damage (my daughter spent a night in our place and it took me that long to redecorate!).
