I made a booking w/a Strict Cancellation Policy. I must be struggling w/the English Language and therefore would hope that rather than being re-directed on numerous occasions to a call center where the language barrier exists, I was hoping that someone on this community board could assist. I am somewhat of a novice at AirBnb and find it all very overwhelming, but in my defence, I am merely trying to understand what seems to be a contradictory statement. I made the error of booking the wrong location. Don't get me started on the "location" issue w/AirBnb. I unstood/understand the "Strict Cancellation Policy" to mean just as the first paragragh indicates;
"Full refund for cancellations made within 48 of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in......."
My reservation is 6 weeks away and I have submitted w/an apolgy to the host my reasons and fell on my sword. However, when on the mobile app., it appears quite clearly that when I attempt to make the cancellation, it reflects that zero dollars are reimbursed. I simply do not understand how it can be stated utilizing the statement, "full-refund" within the same statement of "48 hours" w/out also indicating "less service fees, cleaning fees, etc". They simply contradict each other.
Advise please!!!!
A full refund, is a full refund. Add'l when the changes to cancellation policies rolled out in May of 2018, it states directly on the announcement,
"Three refunds per year per guest
To prevent abuse, guests are limited to three fully refunded cancellations a year"
