So we've waited excitedly for July 1, as that's the period we are due to get superhost! And....nothing. Somehow I expected a message telling me how the process works on July 1. Instead, I've been digging around...it looks it will be another 2 weeks before we hear? Can anyone tell me when and how we can expect to be notified of anything? Thanks!

Hi @Michelle1358 sit tight!
there is a 14 day assessment period to allow for all reviews to be posted that may affect your review ratings for stays completed up til 1st July so hold tight until the 14th July and by then you should receive an email and notice the badge appear.
from a host who felt exactly the same this time a year ago, nothing really changes when you get superhost, so try not to stress before you get it 🙂
Superhost status is supposed to be so that Guests can book with a proven consistent property. It also lets Airbnb know you are a performer after 10 stays - you are consistent for the long haul, not just a few stays. Turns out that Airbnb will cancel your status if you don't maintain lots of bookings to create them lots of commission.
Less than a year ago, I purchased a vacation property, then listed it on Airbnb right away. I have had 11 bookings since September - all 5 star rating, 100% response rate, zero cancelations. Excellent reviews by all.
I got my Superhost status May and was so excited that my hard work paid off.
To my shock, I see that July 1st, they removed my Superhost status because I am not booking enough stays every 3 months. I have had 11 stays, all perfect reviews.
I asked Airbnb, how can I improve? They said everything is perfect, just not enough bookings. So in other words, if you don't make Airbnb enough commission, you lose your status. So if you plan on using your vacation property for your own use, caution! You might not make them enough commission (they review you every 3 months) and you'll lose your status.
Seems like the purpose of having Superhost should be to keep quality, not commission based. Keep in mind I have 11 stays now...over the required 10. Just they want more $ and use your status as a tool to keep you allowing more bookings. Makes me want to work less hard if my usage doesnt meet their needs. It is hard work to stay sharp and ensure all guests are wow'ed. If you arent even going to keep your superhost status - why bother. Note: From September last year until this September, will have have 14 books. 3 more from now until October and counting. That is more than one per month. And if future trends continue, they will all be perfect scores. I still lose because I didn't book guests in during the May/June heavy fly season on a lake. So they said I will lose my status every time there is a LUL in bookings. the end. sorry for venting
OMG! I wonder what this means for seasonal hosts like us. We only run June to September.
@Ian492 You only need 10 bookings (or less if you have long term bookings) within the last year. I personally don't think that is a lot?
You can always look under your stats on your profile exactly where you are lacking. Of course you need to prove yourself in the long haul and how is that possibly if you only have lets says 8 short bookings in a year?
I am not a big fan of the whole superhost hysteria at all but I understand why a host should have at least some experience in order to gain it.
Best, Sandra
@Ian492 I don't understand why you lost your superhost status? You have hosted more than 10 stays the last year? If all the other requirements are fine then contact Airbnb again?
Update: Got the news this morning....we're superhosts and it only took 9 days after the review period ended to get us there!
Us too!
Update: Airbnb has reinstated our Superhost status. Many thanks
Hi @Michelle1358 ,
My Super-host designation disappeared months ago. All my numbers have been well above Airbnb's requirements. Airbnb told me not to worry, that the super-host status would be granted again. After the review I called again, my numbers still well above Airbnb's requirements. Airbnb told me to wait until the 14th. I waited. My numbers still well above Airbnb's requirements. Then Airbnb told me a supervisor will contact me. I waited. An Airbnb supervisor sent me a "copy and paste" message like the one you got. Very upsetting!!! was your issue resolved? Or did you give up? Please let me know. Thank you.
