What a lovely family home you have, @Morgan58. I hope the guests who enjoy your space treat it with the respect it deserves. You have many good questions. I would suggest you make use of all the information located under the hosting in the Help Center. It was great help to me when I first started. If you use search term, taxes, you will see several articles about Air BNB collection of taxes including where in your state they collect. Also, if they don't collect then you must collect the tax and remit to the county and/or city in your area. Some hosts collect after the guest arrives throught the request money option on the confirmed reservation. I include the taxes for my city in the nightly rate and specify that in my listing description. I think it is less hassle. Good luck with your new business!
