The Review System Works

During Floriday high season,  I rented an entire house With my brother's family.

I wanted to impress them and have nice private time with them.

The house was well priced - Not cheap, but reasonable.

Imagine our surprise when we found out host lived in the 3rd bedroom and accessed the common areas!

My review was scathing, but fair. I rated him high on cleanliness, but 1 star on accuracy.

He is no longer on Airbnb. The 2 reservations after me were cancelled.

I am wondering if it is about my review...

The sad thing is this single father had a good listing. Clean and spacious.

But he advertised it as an "entire house" - NOT "private bedroom"

Curious.

@Paul154  Did you talk to him about it when you were there? If not, that seems like a pretty harsh judgement call from one host to another. I mean, maybe he just neglected to put his settings right, rather than trying to deceive. I've read several posts on these forums where newer hosts simply didn't know how to do their settings, or had missed something when setting up their listing.

If it was a purposeful deception, or he didn't know that you can't list something as an entire space if you live there, too,. then yes, your review seems fair and his subsequent suspension would be warranted.
