UK farmhouse holiday let bedding

Hi just starting out & wondering how people supply bedding. A flat sheet & then the duvet cover or just sleep under the duvet? I prefer the former but some people say it should b the latter. Thanks

@Rachel433  This is an international platform so you will have guests from all over the world.  In the US we provide bottom sheet, top sheet and blanket/quilt/comforter.  I know that is not what is expected everywhere, so I suggest you provide what is expected in your area, but be prepared to offer additional bed linens.  The problem with bottom sheet and duvet, is the perception that the duvet is not cleaned between guests.

After a while you will find out who are the guests for your place and be able to adjust to your usual guest.  Hope this helps.

@Linda108, I am in UK and always get a little bit annoyed by US guests how they use the beddings etc. I do as European style (no top sheet below the duvet). So they everything apart and do as they are used to. My current guests are Americans and doing the same. I don't blame them at all and they still get full stars, it's just a bit annoying as it takes extra cleaning. Only the Americans. Hahaha

In the UK we normally provide a bottom sheet (I would advise with a mattress protector underneath) and a duvet and of course pillows and towels.

We have bedbug proof zippered mattress cover, second  waterproof mattress cover, third padded/terrycloth/absorbant mattress cover, fitted bottom sheet, flat top sheet, duvet with removable cover.  We turn the top sheet and duvet back to make it clear that guests should sleep under the top sheet which is under the duvet.  We wash the duvet cover if it appears the guest came in contact with it or if it is at all stained or marked in any way.
